  7.   This is an explanation of the packaging of the unregistered shareware version
  8. of the Farba Utilities (tm) version 6.0 collection of DOS utility programs.  
  9. (See files SYSOP.DOC and VENDOR.DOC for distribution rules.)
  10.  
  11.   The Farba Utilities is a collection of 10 utility programs.  These programs,
  12. along with some ancillary documentation files, are compressed into one file
  13. named FARBAU60.EXE in a proprietary self-extracting format.  (Note that the 
  14. "60" is the major and minor version numbers.)  To this, five more files are 
  15. added to form the distribution package as shown below:

  17.      FARBAU60.EXE  -- proprietary self-extracting file containing many files
  18.      README.TXT    -- plain text file of installation instructions
  19.      VENDOR.DOC    -- industry standard file governing vendor distribution
  20.      SYSOP.DOC     -- industry standard file governing BBS distribution
  21.      FILE_ID.DIZ   -- industry standard file describing the product for BBSs
  22.      PACKING.LST   -- this file you are reading now

  24.   Farba Research distributes this product to end users as a collection of the
  25. above six individual files on a diskette.  
  26.   For distribution by BBSs and disk vendors, we use the industry standard PKZIP
  27. version 2.04g program from PKWARE Inc., to compress the above six files into 
  28. one distribution file named FARBAU60.ZIP.  We do allow BBSs and disk vendors 
  29. to repackage the above six files with a different industry standard compression 
  30. product.  In all cases, the distributed product must contain unmodified 
  31. versions of the above six files.
  32.   In the particular case of distribution by the CompuServe Information Service,
  33. the filename is shortened to FARBAU.ZIP to conform to their six-character limit
  34. on filenames.  If you download this product from CompuServe and subsequently 
  35. decide to furthur distribute it, please do remember to change the distribution 
  36. filename from FARBAU.ZIP to FARBAU60.ZIP.
